There is a main story to "Red Dead Redemption 2," and there are things you can do on the side that won't directly affect that main story. "Red Dead Redemption 2" handles this concept differently. Many times, they're set up in a list outright, and it can make playing games feel like completing checklists. there are "main" story missions and "side" missions. In a lot of big open-world, third-person games - think "Assassin's Creed," "God of War," etc. Allow me to leave those joys for you to experience yourself. In my time with the game, I heard all sorts of hilarious stuff from the people of 1890s America - much of it too colorful to share in polite company. On its basest level, this system means you're going to hear a variety of things, and experience a variety of reactions, based on the way you live as Arthur. More than ever, Rockstar is aiming to make the world of "Red Dead Redemption 2" a living one that responds to how you play. Maybe it's something as simple as, "I wouldn't want to mess with that guy." Or maybe they outright don't want to do business with you because they're afraid for their life. As such, his interactions with the folks on this front porch appear to be relatively friendly.īut if he rolled by with his gun drawn, covered in blood, those people would have something to say about it. Instead, he looks like a relatively normal guy (at least for the time period). He's not covered in mud from weeks of living on the range, nor is he covered in the blood of his enemies, nor does he have a bandit mask on with his gun drawn. The law was after me, so I headed out of town.Īs you can see above, Arthur Morgan is dressed in some relatively standard frontier duds. Turns out, the stranger with the loud mouth didn't have a lot to say when Arthur pointed his gun in said man's face.īut even that act had consequences, as I'd intimidated someone with a weapon and lots of people saw. I had a few options: I could try to placate him ("diffuse") I could ignore him or I could get aggressive. This man - a complete stranger - is now yelling at me, alerting everyone around that I did something less than honorable. Turns out I'd been in a recent bar fight and done something less than honorable. As I walked through a small town as Arthur Morgan, a man standing alongside a saloon yelled out after me. Worse, the people you see may have feelings about you from the jump. The person may respond by telling you to go straight to hell. Maybe you just want to say hi? Go right ahead. Ever person your character sees in the world is a potential interaction. Really!Īnd I'm not just talking about punching and kicking and horse trampling: You can greet, cajole, or soothe every person in the world. In "Red Dead Redemption 2," you can interact with every person. The game's main character, Arthur Morgan, right, having an old-timey discussion, back before Snapchat. And it's doing that by making everything in its vast world interactive, however banal that thing might be in another game. It's the first game from Rockstar that's intended to move the genre forward - the genre Rockstar created in the first place. "Red Dead Redemption 2" aims to break that tradition. "GTA 5" added a robust online multiplayer mode to the concept of open-world gaming - a similar mode is coming to "Red Dead Redemption 2," albeit a bit after launch - but was otherwise another iteration of the formula Rockstar has been following for almost 20 years. "Grand Theft Auto 5," from 2013, is the most recent example: a beautiful third- and first-person action game set in a contemporary version of Los Angeles (called Los Santos) and the surrounding area. Since "GTA 3," subsequent Rockstar projects have been iterations on that original concept: narrative-driven, single-player games set in elaborate open-world environments, whether a 1980s-flavored version of Miami or a turn-of-the-century American frontier, but it's always a third-person action game set in an open world. It was a smash hit, inspiring copycats (remember the " True Crime" series?) and nearly two decades' worth of sequels. It popularized the concept of so-called open-world games - games in which players were free to travel through massive, nonlinear environments ("GTA 3" had a New York City-esque open world named Liberty City). When "Grand Theft Auto 3" arrived on PlayStation 2 in 2001, it was a precedent-setting game.

Here's an example of a virtual choir video that I worked on: In FCPX, you will not get real time playback, so lots of planing is involved. Rarely are these Mobilizers supportive of a given supplier-rather, they are supportive of good ideas for their organization.Ĭommon Rep Approach-Reps tend to seek out a "coach" or advocate on the customer side to help the deal move forward and build consensus. These are the customer stakeholders that your high performing reps target which are referred to as Mobilizers. Not all of the profiles are equally useful-some excel at rallying their organizations around a purchase and ultimately driving consensus. What You Should Do Differently: Their research shows that customer stakeholders fall into one of seven distinct profiles. However, CEB Sales research reveals that true advocates rarely exist. Faced with the task of building consensus, sellers often turn to advocates/coaches in the customer organization. Shortcoming: CEB Sales research has documented that senior decision makers are increasingly unwilling to make a decision without broader organizational consensus. The authors' study found that every sales rep in the world falls into one of five distinct profiles, and while all of these types of reps can deliver average sales performance, only one-the Challenger- delivers consistently. Customers likely focus on a limited set of negotiables-mostly driven by price-Challengers help broaden the customer perspective.Ĭommon Rep Approach-Reps either try to find the “true” decision-maker (or economic buyer) who can overrule an indecisive group, or to find an advocate (or coach) who can guide them through the organization and champion their solution internally. Based on an exhaustive study of thousands of sales reps across multiple industries and geographies, The Challenger Sale argues that classic relationship building is a losing approach, especially when it comes to selling complex, large-scale business-to-business solutions. What You Should Do Differently: Prepare to take charge of the buying process and focus the conversation. Shortcoming: Customers control the interaction and often force price-based negotiations, or delays decision making. Common Rep Approach: In a customer interaction, reps often err on the side of being too passive, avoiding tension at any cost to make situations more amicable and encourage collaboration. This glitch has since been removed but is still available on the original patch. The utility of Roundabout and Lobber for staying on screen longer than most shot also help setting a lot on damage on the field before the boss shows up, like shooting both shots upwards while jumping will results in Roundabout coming down later and Lobber bouncing higher on the floor. Charge and Chaser damage is too low, uncharged bullets are very weak because Charge is not meant to be used this way and Chaser is just too weak naturally. Spread and Peashooter fire rate is too fast for proper switching when Lobber and Roundabout both have slower fire rate, Spread also has short range so it is really hard to optimize. The preferred choices is Roundabout and Lobber, they both have more DPS than Peashooter and the EX does better damage when used correctly.

Therefore, this would complicate regional trade within the ECOWAS region,” Larbi added. “Some countries believe their currency is stronger than the other. “There’s need to promote the currency and educate the indigenes of individual countries for it to work,” Larbi told DW. Afo Larbi, an economist and financial analyst told DW that for the Eco currency to be successfully launched, there must be a unanimous agreement between anglophone and francophone countries in the region. The CFA franc is used in 14 African countries, split into the West African CFA and the Central African CFA, and used by about 150 million. History has it that there haven’t been synergies between French and English-speaking countries in West Africa to work together on various regional trade and investments issues.įrancophone countries within the ECOWAS region, particularly those that use the CFA franc, have their own perceptions of how the Eco currency would work. Anglophone versus Francophone econometricsĮven if these hurdles are overcome, political problems will probably still prevent the currency from taking off. John Garchi Gatsi, a chartered economist and professor at the University of Cape Coast Ghana, told DW that one of the reasons the Eco currency failed to kick-off is that it was modeled like Europe’s euro, where leaders came up with a set of benchmarks and criteria that all ECOWAS member states should adopt before the launch. Another criterion that these countries have been unable to meet is the debt-to-Gross Domestic Product (GDP) ratio. The criteria included curbing inflation, budget deficits, and their financing, reserves, and exchange rate stability. However, the COVID pandemic and the failure of many countries to meet the criteria for launching the single currency precipitated the postponement to 2027. Since its conception in 2003, leaders of the fifteen-member Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) have postponed the launch of a single currency at least four times: In 2005, 2014, 2014, and 2020.ĮCOWAS leaders had set a goal of achieving a monetary and currency union by late 2020. The announcement follows news late Friday that the deal might be falling through, or that Halliburton would have to make their efforts to acquire Baker Hughes a hostile takeover.Ħ. Also in deal news on Monday, oil services giants Halliburton and Baker Hughes announced they will merge in a $34.6 billion deal that sees Halliburton acquire its smaller rival in a deal valuing Baker Hughes at $78.62 per share. Following the news, shares of all three companies advanced, with Allergan gaining more than 4%, Valeant gaining about 2%, and Actavis adding more than 1%.ĥ. And for Ackman, who has had just a huge year in 2014, this deal is what BI's Linette Lopez writes is a classic example of Wall Street's old "Heads I win, tails you lose" value proposition. Ackman is still a big winner on the deal, as Ackman acquired a 10% stake in Allergan as part of his effort to acquire the company along with Valeant, and according to Business Insider's Julia La Roche, this position has seen Ackman reap a profit north of $2 billion. Valeant had been pursuing a combination with Allergan as part of an effort the company undertook with hedge fund manager Bill Ackman.Ĥ. Actavis will acquire Allergan in a $66 billion cash and stock deal that values Allergan at about $219 per share, which also ended Canadian pharmaceutical company Valeant's pursuit of Allergan. The biggest story on Monday was the announced merger between Irish pharmaceutical company Actavis and Botox-maker Allergan. But despite the mildly disappointing report, Chris Rupkey at MUFG said, " As far as the decline today, forget about it as manufacturing production is three-quarters of the index and manufacturing rose 0.2% today to 100.6 just short of July’s 100.7 all time record high."ģ. October's report showed the biggest declines in the mining and utilities sectors, which fell 0.9% and 0.7% respectively. Capacity utilization slipped to 78.9% from 79.3% last month. The Federal Reserve's latest industrial production report showed production fell 0.1% month-on-month in October, missing expectations for a 0.2% increase. In a note to clients following the report, Ian Shepherdson at Pantheon Macro called the report "mildly disappointing."Ģ. The report showed employment levels grew during the month, though average weekly hours worked declined. We got two pieces of manufacturing data on Monday morning, the first coming from the New York Fed's Empire State manufacturing report, which saw the headline index come in at 10.2, below expectations for a reading of 12 but up from October's 6.17 reading. You can run PCSX2 on Windows, macOS, or Linux, making it a handy option for almost every user. While there are several PlayStation 2 emulators available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, the most popular option is PCSX2, which is an open-source PlayStation 2 emulator. The projects rely on the input, development, and programming skills of volunteers. Most gaming emulators are personal projects that attract other developers. Some will allow for smoother gameplay, while others won't even run the game you want to play. The quality of an emulator stems from stability. Some PS2 games will not load if the BIOS version doesn't match the correct region. A PlayStation 2 BIOS is slightly different from the one your PC uses and contains information that relates to the version of your PS2.įor instance, enabling a Japanese BIOS version will allow users to load PS2 games published in Japan. A BIOS is a low-level software that starts when you boot your computer and is usually associated with your PC. Some emulators, including PlayStation 2 emulators, require a BIOS file. Once the emulator mounts the ISO file, it can read the game data. However, the game doesn't just "play." The emulator mounts the ISO in a virtual disc drive, in a process known as mounting. ROMs, through the emulator, allows users to play their games. The ISO file is a copy of the original game files, although you can use ISO files for several other reasons. A PlayStation 2 ROM takes the form of an ISO, which is a disc image (which makes sense, as PS2 games were disc-based). ROMs are the equivalent of a game cartridge, compacting all of the game data into a readable and usable file. To play a game using an emulator, you need a ROM (Read-Only Memory). The extensive functionality of an emulator can enhance older games, as the emulator can also make use of the potential of a modern gaming rig. For example, many emulators allow enhanced resolutions, modern shaders and filters, third-party mods and tweaks, and much more besides. An emulator can read the game's disc image using special software that uses your computer and a display and storage system.Īn emulator often has various benefits over classic gaming consoles. A gaming emulator reproduces a gaming console, allowing users to play everything from a Super Nintendo to a Wii, and everything in between without the need for the console. In this article we'll show you how to play PlayStation 2 games on your PC, allowing you to enjoy all of those classic PS2 games once again.Īn emulator emulates software or hardware. However, if you download and install a PS2 emulator you can relive the glory days of the PlayStation 2. The PS2 is several generations old, surpassed by newer, more capable consoles. Several prominent video game series cut their teeth on the PS2, and the platform boasted thousands of games across every genre imaginable. The Sony PlayStation 2 is a nostalgia-inducing console. |
